You might have heard of zirconium crowns, porcelain veneers, and so on. Below, we answer some frequently asked questions, in order to give you clear and accurate information about dental aesthetic treatments.

Zirconium is a white, crystalline metal. It is used in the manufacturing of crowns that are placed on teeth and implants. Its main advantage is that it is a completely white material. Therefore, it prevents the development of dark areas (black edges) around the tooth which, over time, tend to appear with traditional metal-ceramic crowns.

In crowns, its white structure allows for better results in terms of aesthetics and translucency. Porcelain can be added to zirconium, or you can get solid zirconium, called monolithic zirconia.

They are thin sheets of porcelain that adhere to the tooth and they are used to correct dental colour and shape defects. They require minimal preparation and they preserve practically all of the dental tissue.
